Birth Partner Bootcamp: £20

book a class

thursday evenings 6.30pm - 8.00 pm [April 3rd]

Dad with his baby

The Course

Welcome to Birth Partner Bootcamp. This 1.5 hour long course and 'Birth Partner Handbook' will take you through everything that you’ll need to be a calm and confident birth partner.

“But what actually is a Birth partner and what am I expected to do?” I hear you ask. Well, we use the term Birth Partner very loosely. What we really mean by it is a person that the mum-to-be trusts, relies on and can be vulnerable with. We shouldn’t just focus on the labour and birth though because most Birth Partners tend to be the father of the baby, so their role extends throughout pregnancy and all the way to after baby is born.

The reality of the Birth Partner role is that it is such an important role but no one really teaches you how to do it or even defines what that role is. Throughout this course you will learn about what the role of the birth partner involves, and also, what it doesn’t involve. Whilst you are meant to provide emotional and physical support during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period you are not meant to take on the role of decision maker or protector, unless you want to.

So Let’s get started...

What You'll Learn

  • Massage techniques for both pregnancy and during labour
  • How to support your partner with HB techniques if your partner is using Hypnobirthing
  • How to support your partner practically and emotionally during labour
  • Techniques and tools for labour and birth
  • Preparing for birth practically so that you can remain calm and confident
  • How to use the 'Birth Partner checklist'
  • Your partner’s needs during pregnancy, labour and birth
  • What your partner and baby will need postpartum and how you can make that happen
  • Practical and emotional support techniques
  • Transferring to hospital during labour and doing it calmly and confidently
  • Knowing when and where to get help if you have concerns about your partner or baby
